Lull

Peter and Momo left last weekend, ending our crazy visitation schedule.

And now, we're in a bit of a lull before returning the favours and doing some visiting of our own.

We should be doing lots of this.

But sometimes, you just have to go to the park.

To go for a slow ride on a turtle.

And, after playing second fiddle to just about everybody for a while, I was pretty happy to hear the return of "Mama come too!!" Even if it meant I had to climb onto a turtle while nursing a baby. No problem.

Because it didn't take long before Sebastien noticed this park had lots of his real favourite - sand! (or dirt. Or mud. Or gravel. Something mineral, and he's happy).

And in a shocking turn of events, Sebastien said at bedtime a few nights ago, "Mama, I want a yellow workin' man hat." And repeated it in the morning.

So off we trotted to the Sally Ann, where I was sure I'd seen a kid version of a hardhat just the day before. All they had was this, which was gleefully snatched up, and parked on the workingman's head. All 2 pounds of it. This workin'man says, quite often, "Workin'man taking hat off, going for coffee." Apparently he's a unionized workin'man. And now we're trolling the internet for kid-sized hardhats. Somebody, please stop the madness.

In other head-adorning news - Felix's mohawk keeps getting more prominent. A gnarly looking dude at the library said "wicked hair, baby!" And he wasn't talking about me.
