The days were longer when I was a kid.
In fact, everything was bigger.
It's such a neat perspective, to take the kids to a place where I spent a good chunk of my early years.
Though, what with them being so small, I crave to take them to the place I was when I was that size. Which is not a million miles away, but might as well be, since there's a pesky ocean in the way.
Sometimes, though increasingly rarely, people cross said ocean to come see us, which only serves to intensify the cravings. It's only money, and time, right? Both of which can be budgeted.
I think what I'm trying to say is: Cousins came from Germany. We went to meet them at camp, along with Oma and Opa and Markus and Matthias. The weather was gorgeous, the leaves were perfect, there are 5000 (no, really) pictures to prove it, and the whole visit was fun, and rejuvenating, and all that, but also left me a tiny bit wistful.
In other news, I really should be working on Hallowe'en costumes. I don't much like Hallowe'en, but I like costumes.
