These baby swings are touted far and wide as being a favourite of every baby ever. Sebastien has never been a big fan of his...here he tolerates it for a few minutes, but he never did unclench his little fists.

And here is his cute little belly. Couldn't resist.

Sebastien met his first baby girl today! Maaritta is 18 days older, and just as cute.

We're not sure if they are arm wrestling or holding hands. They were both pretty enamoured with the blue turtle, so my bet is for the wrestling.
Everyone knows you have to burp a baby...and every baby care book shows you how...but no one ever talks about how to fart a baby! Enough with the prudish double speak - here is a handy how-to-fart-your-baby guide.

Step 1: Assess your baby's belly. If poking the belly provokes spitting up, farting your baby is probably not your first priority. If your baby's belly is tight like a little drum, proceed to step 2.

Step 2: After some vigorous bicycling (we don't have to explain bicycling, do we?), grasp your baby's deliciously chubby little thighs and squish them against the tight little belly, until you hear the sound of victory.
Step 3: Change diaper!
(for anyone taking this seriously as any type of legitimate baby care advice, please stop! we are seriously irreverent.)

The fashion show continues; Sebastien models baby undergarments with his usual flair.

Sebbie shows off his cute bum and his bald patch.

Sebastien the Serious displays his famous furrowed brow. Maybe we should have called him Earnest.

And just for the fun of it, some random baby mayhem.

So. Sebastien is 69 days old, weighs 12 lbs 6 oz, is 61 cm long and has had his first round of immunizations. He has rolled from belly to back a bunch of times, and has slept a 6 hour stretch once.

And here he is in his new hat. Stay tuned for better fashion photography in the future.

You wouldn't think Sebastien would have to wear a lot of hand-me-downs, being a first baby and all - but here he is wearing his Mom's old shirt! At the rate he is growing, he will be wearing his dad's jeans next week.

Who glued these boots together anyway? This is silly, I can't walk in these.

Here, let me try them too! Don't best friends share everything?

There must be bad karma to cheating...this photo was actually taken on Feb 20th! There was that flashcard incident....but we are recouping our good karma by going to yoga and sitting peacefully in Kaija's arms (for the length of an exposure, anyway...)

Really, there were wonderful and fabulous pictures from today...but due to a flashcard malfunction, they are irretrievably gone, and it is always the one that got away that would have been the best one ever. But we did manage to get a picture of Grandmaman saying farewell to wee Sebastien. They will see each other again before too much time has gone by.

I am not sure who is charming who here - Tiffany and Sebastien are both pretty charming people!
Sebastien is two months old today - he spent the day with his Mama and Grandmaman.

Sebastien gets reacquainted with his Grandmaman. Much excitement all around.
For Valentine's Day, we gave Sebastien a day at the Spa. Here he is enjoying his massage with his French masseur, Olivier.

Okay, okay, every day is a day at the spa for Sebbie, and he has a massage avec Ollie every single night before his bath. We even pre-heat his towels for him...

You're never too young to preen.

And looking fine after his grooming session in front of a mirror.

Baby by Marlene and Ollie; Quilt by Pat.

I am strong. Tummytime is fun.

I am tired now. Tummytime was fun.

I am done! Somebody pick me up! I hate tummytime!
Today Mama Bear went out to a birthday dinner, leaving Papa Bear and Baby Bear at home - Mama Bear was wracked with anxiety and strange misplaced guilt, but Papa Bear and Baby Bear were just fine. Papa Bear was charged with the task of taking a picture for the blog...

Take One...

Take Two...

Take Three! Sebastien's Oma had a birthday today, too. Maybe in a couple of years he can speak for himself. For now, we will take the liberty of putting words in his mouth.
Sebastien had an exciting day today.

A visit to Kim's house, where Sebastien loves to stare at the ceiling fan, and the little fishies, and were Samantha loves to play with Sebastien. Today she practised her phonics with him.

And then, most excitingly, Sebastien had his first sauna! He spent most of it in his little pool, splashing. This little fella has no Finn in his blood, but he must be absorbing it from the air; he sure liked the sauna.
Today we have a selection of photos of Sebastien in places he didn't nap (despite some hopes his Mum might have had...)

In the basket - which he has almost outgrown, wearing the blue sleeper he has just grown into.

In his cradle, which came to us courtesy of the talents of his Oma and Opa.

And in his car seat - which was a long shot anyway, not being attached to a car and all.

Some more non-feeding ways to hang around in a breast-feeding pillow. No wonder they call it the Babysitter...Thanks, Lisa, for the pillow!

And here is one for those of you who are starting to wonder if Sebbie has forgotten how to smile!

Sebbie likes to start the day with a vigorous kicking session (after breakfast, of course).

After lunch, we went to try out Baby and Mom Yoga. Sebastien was not initially a fan...(funny, Kaija makes most people feel quite peaceful...)

But then, once Sebastien discovered that it was quite acceptable to practice his boxing moves at yoga, he liked it just fine. And more vigorous kicking ensued.

While Seb's Mama hammered nails into the couch frame, Peggy and Sebastien spent some time hammering out the rules of their hair growing contest. Sebastien had a head start (so to speak), but Peggy is catching up.

Sebastien is gazing wistfully out the window, wishing it weren't -28 and windy, so we could go outside. He's not the only one...

Sleeping on the couch, with milk dribbling down his chin, and the remote within reach. Isn't that everyone's perfect Saturday night?

Those breastfeeding pillows are good for more than just feeding! Sebbie was feeling a little insecure about the whole thing, so his Papa offered him a hand. Or part of one, anyway.

Sebastien starts to get a glimmer of what toys might be for. I hope he shares with us...
