No more carefully crafted blog entries around here (well, that's hardly new. But I can admit it now). With a rambling three-storey house, and a newborn and a toddler and erratic sleep schedules...there are only so many small windows of time...and still there is laundry to be washed, food to be made, and floors to be swept. Though we've kind of given up on the floors.
So without further ado (because there is a pile of laundry waiting to hang in the breeze):

Sebastien wants to go see Matilda all the time now - "go see Mattie, Mama, ride tractor!". Subtle.

Poor Felix. He doesn't get much playtime yet - too scary on the floor with all those rocks, tractors and feet. Scary for Mama, that is.

And why oh why is this poor baby still wearing fleece at the end of May? Probably the same reason the boiler still comes on in the morning. Sigh.

Well, he must have a certain fondness for Matilda - nobody else gets to wear the firetruckman hat. Though lately, it is definitely more of a workin'manhat. And on this warm day, his head is dripping sweat under it. But take the hat off? No way.

Cause hey, if he gets overheated, we can always take him for ice cream.

That hair! Can't get enough of that hairline. Incidentally, this baby is now one month (and one day!) old, and is a whopping 10 pounds, 10 oz. Or for you metric types, that's 5 kg. Which is a whole lot bigger than he was a month ago, which at least validates that wanting to eat every 8 seconds habit that he has. Maybe now that it's validated, he might want to space it out a bit. We'll see.
Dirt! is what we've been digging around here, now that the snow has (mostly) stopped flying. But it's still all play.

Remember Sebastien's old chum Maaritta? It turns out she likes Felix quite a bit too. She sure likes babies more than the big brother does...

It's never too soon for a photo shoot with a baby, right?

Even if it does give him the demonic red eyes sometimes.

And big brother has handily learned to pose for the camera, and then ask to see the picture. Over and over and over. Papa wouldn't let me post the one of him with the garbage can on his head, which is definitely one of his more interesting poses.

"Want go on Mama's lap too!"

The red hat is the workin' man hat when the mood strikes. Which it has a lot lately. Especially with a dump truck load of dirt in the yard.

And a whole box of digger-type toys that just appeared here one day. The best kind of hand-me-down!
And of course, just some gratuitous cuteness to finish it all off.

Unlike that guy who took daily pics of his kids for 13 years (and maintained a daily website! Egads!), we are getting pretty sporadic around here. But we are making up for it with quantity (if not quality).

Little boys. Big tree. And we are thankful for neighbourhood parks.

All those swanky toys aside, Mama's rock collection is by far Sebbie's favourite toy. Much to Mama's delight.

Oh, sweet baby feet. So impossibly perfect, and tasty too!

Grandmaman was here for Mother's Day, and there was much feasting. Chocolate brownie waffles! Who knew there was such a thing?

Firetruckman Heaven. Except, he didn't want to go anywhere near the fire truck. Apparently they're kind of overwhelming up close.

More of this yumminess...

And more yumminess!

So speaking of all those swanky toys...I don't know how this happened. Seven dump trucks? An embarassment of riches. Though, in our defence, we only purchased one of them.

Mmmmm....rocking with a baby. Too bad there are other things that need to be done in the day.

The infamous digger hole, and one of our many forays there. We even drag our guests there.
This household is overrun with Y chromosomes. Good thing they're all so cute.

And the middle Y chromosome is adjusting reasonably well. The love affair with the suckything has been renewed, and how. And hey, he even offers it to his little brother sometimes. That counts as a gesture of goodwill, doesn't it?

Little Felix is enjoying more than just hand-me-down suckies, though - in fact, he's not yet worn anything that his big brother didn't break in for him a few years ago...I think we have this same picture of Sebastien, somewhere.

And the little firetruckman is pretty lucky in that regard - he's gotten some exciting new stuff, along with an exciting new baby brother.

All in all, everybody's adjusting. It's a work in progress, and we will enjoy these weeks of two parents being at home. The sun is starting to come out to play more often, and there is one! crocus flowering in the front yard.

That's right. Felix Josef Doucet. Born April 27, 2009.

More to come. Much more. (More pics that is. Not more babies.)
